1. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small value a website can ask a browser to store and send with later requests. localStorage is another browser storage mechanism; its values remain in that browser until removed or replaced. TradeOutput currently uses localStorage for privacy choices and your selected language. The label Cookie Preferences covers these similar technologies as well as any future cookies.
2. Necessary storage
The key tradeoutput-consent-v1 stores your necessary, analytics and marketing choices, the consent version and the time saved. It is used to remember your privacy preferences and avoid asking again while they remain valid. This storage is treated as necessary for that preference function. The key tradeoutput-language-v1 stores your selected display language until you change it or clear browser storage. This functional preference does not enable tracking. The calculator does not store its inputs in localStorage, cookies or a database.
3. Analytics
Analytics could help us understand which pages and tools people use and identify site problems. This optional category is off by default. There is no active analytics provider in the initial site. A future provider must be configured to remain inactive until the category is allowed, and to stop optional collection when permission is withdrawn.
4. Marketing
Marketing technologies could support campaign measurement or related marketing functions. This optional category is off by default and has no active provider in this version. Accepting marketing cookies is separate from agreeing to receive email. The early-access form uses a server-side Klaviyo integration without adding browser tracking cookies.
5. Choosing and changing preferences
On a first visit, use Accept All, Reject All or Cookie Settings. Cookie Preferences lets you turn optional categories on or off, save a custom choice, reject optional categories or accept all. Necessary storage remains active. The footer always links back to the preference page. New choices replace old ones in this browser. Clearing storage or using another browser requires a new choice.
6. Duration and browser restrictions
Saved choices are treated as valid for 180 days. After that, the site ignores the expired choice and requests a new one; the stored value is replaced when you choose again. If the browser blocks storage, choices apply only to the current page session. No optional provider loads merely because storage is unavailable. Cross-tab changes are reflected where the browser supports storage events.
7. Hosting and third-party technologies
Vercel is the intended host. Deployment infrastructure may have essential security or delivery mechanisms that should be reviewed before public launch. No third-party analytics, advertising, authentication or payment SDK is installed. Any future provider’s actual cookies, purposes and durations must be added to this policy when that provider is configured.
